Bristol Balloon Fiesta

Bristol International Balloon Fiesta 2015

The 37th annual Bristol balloon fiesta took place on the 6th – 9th August with over 100 balloons ascending across the city of Bristol. The four-day festival is the largest balloon event in Europe. Each day starts and ends with a mass balloon launch, one in the morning at 6am and the other in the early evening around 6pm. Both are spectacular due to the sunrise or the sunset backdrops.

The colourful event is a fantastic experience to witness and is a must for any August visitors to Bristol. It is free to attend this celebrated event, which has become as synonymous to Bristol as Aardman animation characters “Wallace & Gromit”.  The fiesta may not be quite as well known as Brunel’s Clifton Suspension Bridge, but the combination of balloons flying over the bridge creates a complete iconic image of Bristol.
