Autumn Colours
The 9th November 2014
I headed out early, in the slanting autumn light. My aim was to capture the warm colours of the changing season. The rich reds, browns and yellows leaves merge together with the green grass and blue sky creating a vibrant artist pallet. There is always something magical about this time of year and from a photography point of view it is like Christmas.
Testing the Olympus OM-D E-M5
I had with me an Olympus OM-D E-M5 with a 12-50mm kit lens and a 60mm F2,8 macro lens. The great thing about the Olympus system is that it is light, portable and relatively easy to use. My starting point as with most cameras was to know the essential controls, shutter speed, aperture, ISO setting and where the focus point is set. Once established I was off rambling the slightly fairytale looking autumn day and these are sum of the results I got.

The last image was a hand held long exposure of an experiment. The spider’s web image below shows the detail you can get with an Olympus 60mm macro.
