Scorpion Flies, Dragonflies and Beetles
Small creatures
The colourful micro world that lives below and flies above us can be intriguing to photograph due to all of natures fine detail. The dragonfly’s wings have all the complications of a famous stained class window such as Salisbury Cathedral or La Sagrada Familia in Barcelona. The colourful world has its rich Ladybird reds and the from the obviously named Common Blue Butterfly, throw in a few bright yellows from the Hover flies, wasps and bumblebees and you have all the primary colours covered. For this journal I have just looked at detail and I will come back to colour in another post.
An couple of hours nature walk in the Mendips
The images I have included here where taken in the Mendips hills a beautiful landscape, which like all areas needs to be respected to keep its treasures. My favourite shot is of a scorpion fly hanging on in the gusty winds, I had to be very patient and wait for that spit moment when the wind had run out of steam.
