Photographing Properties

Frampton Court

I was recently asked to photograph Frampton Court, a privately owned listed building steeped in history. Set in the middle of Frampton on Severn, an idyllic English village which could easily be the backdrop to an Agatha Christie novel. The commission was to photograph the interiors and exteriors of the home for their website and other marketing material.

I had to use an Elinchrom Quadra lighting kit for the interiors as the rooms where very tricky to meter for.

Here are a few simple tips:

  • Remove all unsightly items like bins; an eye for the small details is essential.
  • Keep an eye on the vertical and horizontal lines as ideal you do not want the building to be distorted
  • Use a tripod, nothing more needs to be said.
